The core missions of the 3nLab Institute are 1) to foster the creation and development of open source tools, software and programming languages in applied mathematics, mathematical programming and numerical computation & algorithmics as well as their application to open automated data processing and analysis, neural computing, etc. and 2) to promote their adoption and utilisation for both educational and open research purposes.
The term open source refers here to any software whose source codes are open and free of i) access and execution for all uses, ii) adaptation and improvement, and iii) duplication and redistribution.
The 3nLab Institute is a not-for-profit organization that pursues the achievement of these missions by carrying out the following (non-exhaustive list of) activities
